National Food Service Workers Day
Today is National Food Service Workers Day, a day dedicated to honoring the incredible individuals who work tirelessly to feed us all. From the baristas who craft our morning coffee to the chefs who create culinary masterpieces, and the countless others in between, these are the people who fuel our daily lives.
As a former Burger King employee myself I know service workers often spend long hours on their feet toiling in hot kitchens, dealing with ornery customers, and putting on a smile no matter what they’re feeling – all so the customer can have a delicious meal. Giving a “You Matter” card to waiter, waitress or fast-food worker is a simple and impactful way to say thank you. I see you. You really do matter.
So next time you’re grabbing coffee or a bite to eat, take a moment to look the person serving you in the eyes – that alone tells them that they matter. Want to take it a step further? Stash a few You Matter cards in your pocket or purse so the next time a food service worker goes above and beyond you’re ready to make their day.
