You Matter Moment of the Week
“A card. A conversation. A connection. Is it really this simple? With every interaction, I continue to be no less amazed that two words, printed on a 2” X 3.5” card, can have such a life-changing effect. From the gal behind the counter at Wawa, who clutched the card to her chest, closed her eyes and smiled, as if I had just handed her a gift she had always wanted to the retail sales girl at the Gap, who went from robotically asking me if I had found everything I was looking for to pulling out her phone and showing me pictures of a gift her high school counselor sent her (because after 10 years, they’re still in touch). Is it really this simple? Or, are these cards secretly sprinkled with fairy dust and unicorn glitter?!? Either way, I can’t imagine going back to a time BYMC (Before You Matter Cards). This month has been nothing short of magical for me and I am truly a better person for having made every single connection.“
