You Matter Moment of the Week
“You Matter Marathon is not only a worthy cause, but it could also change someone’s perceptions of themselves. With all the depression and other mental illnesses people suffer with these days, people need to know they matter. There are so many people who don’t smile, nod hello, open doors, or assist someone struggling to simply put groceries in their car. I enjoy doing these things. They have always been part of my true make-up.
I’m a caregiver, literally! I give these cards to my clients. Most of them are shut-ins and don’t have family to visit them. Most are usually surprised at receiving a You Matter card. They closely examine it and then say thank you.
I already have understanding and compassion for all my clients, but after giving You Matter cards, I see how important have been to my clients. They’re tangible – something they can put in their wallet that truly means something to them: YOU MATTER!”
