Mr. Jones – A Teacher’s You Matter Story
Mr. Tyrone Jones is a Reconnections Teacher in Davenport, Iowa. He has been handing out cards to students and staff for quite a few years. Mr. Jones is from Pennsylvania where he originally learned about the You Matter Marathon and continues to spread the You Matter movement in Illinois and Iowa.
I gave a student a “You Matter” card and then received a teaching assignment at a new school. After I left that school, a new coworker met that same student at her child’s dance class and began a conversation with her. The student showed my coworker the “You Matter” card which I gave her. She carries it in her phone case.
