NOVEMBER 1 IS HERE AND IT’S LAUNCH DAY!
When I conceived the YMM, back in March, I announced that my goal was to collectively give out 10,000 You Matter cards in November. That would have required 333 people signing up.
What I didn’t tell you, was my private BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal) of having 5000 people involved. I kept this to myself for fear of public humiliation if I fell short. But I kept my BHAG on a large Post-It note next to my computer where it challenged me every day for the past 8 months.
Well thanks to you, my BHAG now looks quite modest. We have over 14,000 people poised to participate in our global Marathon!
As I counted out your You Matter cards to prepare to send to you, I often reminded myself that I wasn’t counting cards – I was counting encounters – for as you know, each card represents a potential encounter between you and the fortunate person you gift with the card, telling them You Matter.
While my idea was to have you share one card per day throughout the month, if you feel moved to share them at a different pace, please do so. The cards and the journey are yours.
