Joe’s mom first shared his story saying, “I can’t help but think if the students only knew how much they mattered they might still be here. My son said everyone he shared a card with smiled and said thank you. I have seen the caring side of my son who just wants his peers to know they matter, and I couldn’t be prouder.

It’s an honor to be part of such a beautiful thing and I thank you for everything you do to show people they do matter. In honor of the You Matter magic I challenged my family to do one random act of kindness a day.

Going on this magical ride with my son and seeing the man he is becoming is not only helping him and others, but healing my soul as well. It’s an amazing thing seeing your child vow to just be a good human and be a friend whenever someone needs a shoulder. I’m always saying if people can hate each other for no reason then we can also show we care for no reason other than because we choose to…”
